Loyola Limited is pleased to announce, Sam Yagan, co-founder of SparkNotes, OkCupid, and current CEO of Match.com as the keynote speaker for the 2015 Student Run Business Conference.
Mr. Yagan will speak on Friday, February 6th at 6pm in Galvin Auditorium, located in the Sullivan Center on Loyola University's Lake Shore Campus. Admission will be free to all Loyola University students, faculty, and staff and $15 to the greater Rogers Park/Edgewater Community.
Sam Yagan is an Internet entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of SparkNotes in 1999, co-founder of OkCupid in 2003, and the current CEO of Match.com. Yagan was also named to Crain’s “40 Under 40” in Chicago in 2011 and was listed as TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2013. “His never-ending entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his degrees from Harvard and Stanford, has paved the way for his success. His address is sure to be engaging and relevant to a world that is always becoming more dependent on the Internet.” Said Hudson Hotaling, CEO of Loyola Limited.
Loyola Limited welcomes Mr. Yagan as part of a weekend long Student-Run Business Conference. The weekend will serve as an opportunity for student-run businesses from across the nation to meet and discuss the successes and struggles of running a business as a student, as well as a chance to network with like-minded entrepreneurs and increase collaboration with other student-run businesses.
Last year’s inaugural conference welcomed Arsen Avakian, CEO and co-founder of Argo Tea, as the keynote speaker. There were also a series of talks given by Loyola University Chicago faculty members. The 2014 conference was attended by: Flyer Enterprises of the University of Dayton, Penn Student Agencies of the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern Student Holdings of Northwestern University, and Brown Student Agencies of Brown University.
